Guest Designer Britt Bass Shares her Valentine’s Cards

We are so excited to introduce Guest Designer Britt Bass to our Scrapbuck audience.  This week, she brings us three different takes on Valentine’s.  Her eclectic and resourceful approach has left us truly inspired.

Britt shared, “One of the things I love about Valentines is that the color combos can be so fun and funky.   I decided that I loved the green-red-pink combo and grounded it with a little soft blue stripe paper for my background.”

We think the color combinations and use of diagonal lines Britt chose really adds energy to her design.

“I also have fun using a mix of products from different brands!  I used K& Company, We R Memory Keepers and Forever in Time to create this look.   You can totally mix and match products from Scrapbuck because there is such an awesome selection at such great prices!  I always get nervous when I try something a little quirky with a piece of paper I paid two dollars for!!! But I get the same great product from Scrapbuck at a no-pressure price.”

Guest Designer Britt, One of a Kind Love Card

“If you’re not a big stamper the K&Co Grand Adhesions can be layered together to create sentiments and focal images in place of a stamped sentiment.   I used a large Grand Adhesion, “Love” and a small one “One of a Kind” to create my main focal image.   I LOVE how this card turned out!”

We love how Britt incorporated the banners into this design!  Especially how she left the tails loose and lightly curled away from the card to create whimsy and dimension.

“As I said, I’m a fan of funky color combos when I create my valentines, so when I decided to create my sentiment with these Grand Adhesions , I saw that I needed to add a little pop of orange to my grouping of banners to compliment the border around ‘One of a Kind’.  I cut some coordinating orange cardstock and layered it in.  I was really pleased with the addition of orange to this pallet and it was really easy to do using the packs of 8 ½ x 11 cardstock available on Scrapbuck.”

Guest Designer Brit Shaker Gift Boz & Butterfly Kisses Tag

Shaker Gift Box & Butterfly Kisses Tag

“Another cute idea for Valentines day is to create gift boxes and tags.  Scrapbuck has some really fun, small gift boxes that come with the glitter and seed beads in the package!  I took the glitter and covered the whole outside of the box and let it dry, then I took a thin chipboard square, and a piece of spare acetate,  and created a shaker box with the seed beads and a flocked Forever in Time crown sticker.  Adding the shaker box to the top of the gift box really makes the box a  gift in itself!”

“I wanted to make a coordinating gift tag to go with the box so I created a tag from my cardstock pack and then used Forever in Time flocked stickers and K&Co Grand Adhesions to create a pretty little layered gift tag!  This would be so cute to give to your little girl on Valentines day!”

We are so excited to have Britt designing for us, and we hope you enjoyed her projects as much as we did!  To see more of Britt’s designs, visit her blog, Pink Paper Crowns.  She is crafting like crazy with a new post almost everyday!
